Newman Breastfeeding Clinic & Institute

BFAR.org (Breastfeeding After Reduction) – An invaluable resource for breastfeeding mom and moms to be who’ve had breast and/or nipple surgeries. Created by two moms who had such surgeries themselves. Be sure to check out their store for an excellent selection of breastfeeding books.

WarmLines – WarmLines offers professionally-facilitated New Babies/New Moms groups and New Babies/New Parents groups, both free-of-charge, to first-time parents. If you live within a reasonable drive of Newtonville, MA, this group is a must! I participated in a session when my son was 3 months old. It was a wonderful experience!

Jewish Family and Children’s Services – The JFCS of Greater Boston offers a plethora of family support services (most are free, too), including breastfeeding support, new mothers support groups, a visiting mom’s program, adoption resources, and support for parents of preemies.

Mothers & Co. – Classes, support groups, special event, and natural parenting products store located in West Boylston, MA. Great spot to shop for baby carriers!

Motherfeeding (Jessica Lang Kosa, Ph.D., IBCLC) – Jessica is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant in private practice in Newton, MA. She offers one on one consulting as well as small group classes for new an expectant parents.

Boston Association for Childbirth Education/Nursing Mothers Council - Providing childbirth and breastfeeding education for families and those who support them since 1953. Speak to a BACE/NMC breastfeeding counselor over the phone for free.

Family Solutions Training – Owned and operated by a fellow doula and her husband, this organization offers infant/child CPR and First Aid training, newborn and infant care, and parenting support.

Sustainablebabyish/Sloomb cloth diapers – Locally-owned manufacturer of cloth diapers and wool diaper covers.

Diaper Lab - Your one stop shop for all things cloth diapers! Located in Somerville, MA.

Magic Beans – Great place to try on a variety of baby carriers. They also have a lovely place space inside their store so the little ones can have fun, too!

Boston Babywearers – This group holds monthly meet-ups & offers a baby carrier lending library.

Dr. Lisa Geiger, DC - Chiropractor trained in the Webster technique which can be helpful in turning breech babies and to promote optimal fetal positioning.

Erin Sweeney, LMT and fellow doula – Full disclosure: Erin was our doula. She is amazing, both as a doula and as a massage therapist!

Jennifer L. Anders, LicAc – Jennifer is an acupuncturist who focuses on women’s health. She is trained in the moxabustion technique, thought to be helpful in turning breech babies.

Assabet Valley Natural Health – Joy Mandler, LMT AOBTA, is an incredible shiatsu practitioner whose practice focuses on perinatal care, pregnancy massage and post-partum recovery. She is also a birth doula. Joy’s shiatsu bodywork is incredible!

AskMoxie.org – This site has saved me from myself about a zillion times in the last 14 months. An invaluable resource.

PearBudget.com – Affordable, easy to use online budgeting program. My husband and I found it to be very helpful after we became a single-income household.

SimpleMom.net – Described on their site as “Life Hacks for Home Managers.” I love the perspective, and the smart, simple solutions they offer for all the everyday stuff of parenting, family, and life.
